Chase Crouse
Hey y'all! My name is Chase Crouse. I'm a proud Catholic husband & father of 2 with 1 on the way! I am the Co-Founder of a Catholic personal training company called Hypuro Fit. My reversion story really began after my parents got divorced when I was young. On one side of my family there was a seed of Catholicism, but on the other it was mostly a secular/hedonistic outlook on life. I was sacramentalized, but never evangelized. I chased girls, played sports, and drank a lot of beer in high school and in college because that's what I thought men were supposed to do.
The summer after my freshman year I stumbled on a book called Rediscover Catholicism. At this point, I wasn't an atheist. I was a "Catholic" like a lot of other Catholics I knew at the time. But when this book started speaking about being the best version of yourself, and that heaven and hell are real, it struck me for the first time that one day my life would end, and I would be face to face with the God that I claimed to believe in. Yet, I had spent years living a practically atheistic lifestyle focused on nothing but myself. That's when the Holy Spirit moved in me and I prayed my first sincere prayer: "God, I'm sorry".
After that I called up an old youth group friend who met me at a Whataburger (the world's best burger place ) at 1am. I shared with him my experience and he convinced me to go to confession for the first time in a long time. It was one of those brutal 45 minute confessions full of ugly girl tears. I knew that I wasn't strong enough to go back to the school I was attending and the same friend invited me to check out NET Ministries. So 2 months later I was in Canada with NET serving 2 years with them!
After my time with NET I went to JPCatholic University in San Diego where I got my BA in Theology and MA in Biblical Theology. It's there where my wife and I met and got married right after we graduated.
I worked in ministry for years before I felt called to help people both physically and spiritually. That's when we started Hypuro Fit with the goal of helping people strive for self mastery for the sake of self gift. Using Pope St. JP II's Theology of the Body as our guide post towards helping people see the beauty and the grace in the Catholic Aesthetic lifestyle.
My wife Viva and I now work with hundreds of people around the world in helping them be "Fit for the Kingdom" like Fr. Capo says. Always striving to conquer ourselves to be a sincere gift of self. To imitate Christ on the cross - who gave Himself completely to the Father for our sake.
