Fr. Zach Weber
Born and raised in Wisconsin. Youngest of 4 and an high school athlete. In college I played baseball, but always believed there was more to life.
At the age of 20 during my sophomore year college I was invited by my brother P.J to the first man of Christ conference in Milwaukee. That day I heard the gospel in a way that transformed everything in my life. I realized that God existed, that He loved me, and He wanted me to be happy, and that He was present in the Eucharist. At Mass while the priest was holding up the Eucharist is when I felt called to be a priest that day.
However, I didn’t know much about the faith and being very scared I ran from the call. After running for 10 months by getting into a lot of bad decisions I finally opened my heart to the reality that I was really being called. Then within a week I had a collapsed lung and would suffer from 6 more surgeries over the next year and a half. It seems the evil one didn’t want me to be a priest.
After discerning that God was actually calling me and I applied to seminary but was not accepted. After another year of discernment it became clear that He was calling me to the diocese of Green Bay. After 6 years of seminary I was ordained in 2017. I served 3 years in Antigo Wisconsin. Now I am the chaplain at the university of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I have a lot to learn still being a young priest, but I love being a priest. I wouldn’t trade the priesthood for anything in the world.
