How does a filmmaker in Hollywood go from a secular existence to being an on fire Catholic? Evan's "yes" came in 2017 through a moment of grace and a heavenly dose of humility. If you heard Eric's testimony, you know Evan's backstory of losing his faith, a sordid upbringing, survival, and searching for meaning when all seemed lost. But where their paths diverge in Hollywood, Evan finds his way back Home through the great witness of Eric, his wife Annalisa, and the hunt for objective truth.

I thought I had a guaranteed career with my hit master's thesis at USC's cinema school, but this was just the beginning of a series of low points: being out of work, losing my manager, my new movie was falling apart, my recently acquainted father was cancer stricken, and my wife and I had "unexplained infertility" after several years of trying.

It was a Wednesday afternoon, April 2017 when I looked up at Our Lady of Hope and with a contrite heart I begged our Lord "...take everything away from me, what I have been trying to do is not working, I give myself fully to You, help me Lord. Fix me. Use me for good. Help me know what You desire of me. I'm so sorry I left You. Please take me back. I'm Yours." I wept.

A Prodigal Son returns. A Gethsemane prayer. I've been ablaze ever since. I love being Catholic. I love being Home.

A month later we got our first positive pregnancy test.

All things are possible with God!

We have two boys and we're going for more! I'm an award winning screenwriter and director and I'm interested in making movies that glorify the Lord and/or make the world a better place. That is my mission, my ministry. The movie I'm setting up now aims to do just that. Want to know how I got back to Rome? I'm sharing that journey this Sunday and I can't wait!

"What can get us through such snares [of the devil]?

Then a voice came to me.

HUMILITY." - St Anthony the Great (270 AD)
