Fr. Dan Reehil
Fr. Daniel Reehil is pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Columbia, TN. He was born in Mineola, NY on August 4, 1965, and is the oldest of four children. His father was a NYC Fire Chief, and his mother was a court reporter after the children were in school.
As a young man Dan pursued wealth and success on Wall Street as a banker. In 1998 he visited a small village in Bosnia where he experienced a deep conversion back to the faith after having been away from the Catholic Church for 22 years.
After September 11, 2001, he left NYC and moved to Boston with a priest that invited him to come and see the life of diocesan priesthood. The priest, Fr. Tom Dilorenzo, was the greatest priestly role model Fr. Reehil has ever experienced, and it was in Boston that his formation to priesthood began. From Boston he entered Holy Apostles seminary and began studying philosophy. After two years of Theology, he left seminary to become a contemplative hermit in Omaha, NE. For five years he was formed in the radical life of the Evangelical Counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience. He then went back to seminary to finish his studies.
Near the end of his studies, Bishop David Choby invited him to Nashville to come and see Middle Tennessee. Both Dan and Bishop Choby agreed Nashville would be his new home. Upon his ordination on July 26, 2014, Fr. Reehil was assigned to St. Edward Parish as the Parochial Vicar; two year later he was elevated to Pastor. In 2020 he was made the pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and the Vicar Forane of the Southern Deanery.
Fr. Reehil is also the exorcist for the Diocese of Nashville, and the National Director of Radio Maria USA where he has a daily radio program called “Battle Ready with Fr. Dan Reehil”.
