I had no idea I could be a sacred art painter. Growing up, I knew I loved creating art and Jesus but I didn’t think they could be connected. Our society often pushes the faith out of the arts these days making it seem like sacred beauty is an out dated Renaissance memory. But I couldn’t shake wanting to tell the world about Jesus and to do it through the Arts.
Being gifted the opportunity to invest in my talents by studying painting in Italy, everything began to shift. I realized there, not only how sacred art can still exist today, but that it needed to remain ever alive for the sake of our church.
Beauty has the power to pierce through the noise of this culture and reach hearts in a way that reason alone can’t any longer given our relativistic society. And I was seeing that happen in many ways in my own heart and those around me.
Following my time in Italy, I began painting full time and evangelizing through the Arts in ways I never imagined. The Lord has even lead my husband to join me full time in this mission. As a family it’s humbling to see how God constantly shows up and pours out his love.
