Sr. Bethany, FSP
Sr. Chelsea Bethany is a perpetually professed Sister with the Daughters of St. Paul (@daughterstpaul), a community of vowed women religious who dedicate their lives to sharing Christ’s love with the people of today through their lives and through the media. She usually goes by Sr. Bethany in life and online (@SrBethanyFSP). She grew up in central MD on a small farm with Texas Longhorn cattle and Boer goats. When she was in 8th grade, she met a Religious Sister for the first time. During her meeting with the 8th grade class, this Sister said: “I know you all are thinking about what YOU want to do with your life, but don’t be afraid to ask Jesus what HE wants for your life. I promise if you do that, you’ll never regret it.” Even though she was only 13, this changed Sr. Bethany’s perspective on her search for life’s meaning. After looking at some vocational material left by the visiting Sister, she discovered the Daughters of Saint Paul and fell in love with Jesus through the Pauline spirituality and mission. Though there were a few detours along the way, she entered the community in 2011 and professed final vows in 2022. Over the years she has been stationed all over the United States and in Italy and currently keeps herself busy as a full time Theology and Catechetics Student at the Catholic University of America in Washington DC and assists in the National Vocation Office of the Daughters of Saint Paul. In her free time, you’ll usually find her in the kitchen baking cookies or running around the convent filming something for social media. She wants you to know that you are loved by loving God and that it is profoundly good that you are here.
