Myles Vosylius
Growing up, I was raised Catholic. I had a good exposure to the faith. Although, it wasn’t until I reached high school that I started to seriously question my own beliefs. This was because due to the nature of most high schools, a lot of kids quickly jumped on the bandwagon of being “atheist” or “agnostic.”
However, I didn’t want to throw away my faith that I was raised with and hop on the popular bandwagon. This was because at a young age my parents were divorced, and I saw in my father a strong faith that he had in our Lord, and His Church. This struck me, considering all the difficult and heartbreaking events we had gone through as a family. I spoke to him about the questions I was having about God. He gave solid answers. Although I was looking to encounter God, not just have a textbook reason to believe. He told me about his personal experience in the Charismatic Renewal. This really got my attention. I decided to attend a healing Mass, with prayer ministry after Mass. It was that night that I said to the Lord “Please come into my life Lord Jesus. I surrender all that I am to you.” And this experience of surrender changed me. I had a powerful encounter with Christ that moved me deeply into an unshakable faith and love I had for God.
Things drastically started to change in my life following this change of heart. Some change for good, some change for bad. But I knew I had encountered the RISEN Lord, and nothing could tell me otherwise. After a few years, the call to priesthood was deeply placed in my heart. I began to pursue what I believed was God's will for me, to serve Him as a holy priest one day!
